Biography

Professor Carlos Valencia MD, PhD, received his initial medical degree from University of Guayaquil, Ecuador, followed by a neurological specialty at the same University with subsequent subspecialty fellowship training in Stroke and epilepsy at Autonoma University and Sant Pau Hospital of Barcelona. He received PhD in spectroscopy in white matter diseases from Autonoma University of Barcelona. Then, he received his second specialty in Neurosurgery at University of Barcelona after a training of five years. He worked as Neurologist and Neurosurgeon in several Spanish hospitals. Currently, he is working as Director of Interdisciplinary Epilepsy Program, Director of Research Department at Baca Ortiz Children´s Hospital and Professor of Research and Neuroanatomy at the School of Medicine, International University of Ecuador. He is serving as a reviewer member of several reputed journals and has authored over 100 research abstracts and manuscripts.
