Biography

Dr Uguru is from Umuosu Nkwoegwu Okaiuga in Umuahia North Local government of Abia State. He was born in Park Lane Hospital Enugu and attended Ekulu Primary school Enugu. His secondary school education was at Saint Augustine’s Grammer School Nkwere and Government Secondary School Owerri. He then completed a higher school Education at Federal School of Arts and Science Ogoja from where he went on to The University of Benin where he graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1989.

 He did his one year Housemanship at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital and went on to National service with merit in Kano State, serving at the Dental clinic  MRS 3rd Motorised Brigade Bukavu Barracks Nigerian Army Kano. 

 He returned to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital from 1993 until 2000 where he completed a residency programme in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery under the auspices of West African College of Surgeons. 

After a short stint at the Federal Medical Centre he joined the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital as a hospital Consultant in 2002 before joining the staff of the then new Faculty of Dentistry in 2005.
