Changku Jia
Professor
Hainan Medical University, China
Professor Changku Jia majored in liver & pancreatic transplantation and graduated from Zhejiang University, the famous university in China, as a doctors degree holder. After graduation he entered academic practice including basic science and clinical training within liver transplantation center of Zhejiang University and Queen Mary Hospital of Hong Kong University. From August 2010 he was appointed the head of Dept. Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surg,First Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University.
He strongly experienced in clinical and fundamental work of hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation. He enriched experience in the research of transplantation immunology and hepatic ischemia/reperfusion and skilled in multiple experimental methods including hybridation in situ, Western blot, gene transduction, molecular cloning, etc. In his past research he found that liver specific antigen (LSA) is an important transplantation antigen which involves in the immunorejection of liver transplantation directly. He reported for the first time that intrathymic inoculation of LSA can induce immnotolerance of liver allotransplantation and grafts can survive for a long time thereby, thus leading to a novel way to liver transplantation immunotolerance. Now he is the expert of hepatobiliary operation and liver transplantation in human and heart & liver transplantation in rats.
