Biography

A MD in Forensic Medicine from prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Dr Behera presently working as an Associate Professor, at Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, AIIMS, New Delhi. He has received ICMR International fellowship for young biomedical Scientist for the year 2017-2018 and completed research training in ‘Biomarkers of suicide’ at department of Translational Research, Neurobiology and Psychiatry, University of Alabama Birmingham, Birmingham, USA. He is also a Fellow of International Medical Science Academy and Indian Congress for Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Recipient of Excellence award in Forensic medicine at SAFCON 2008, Member of many scientific organisations including prestigious National Academy of Medical sciences, Editorial board member and reviewer of many scientific journals. Chief investigator for many funded scientific projects. He has given expert opinion in complicated medico-legal cases referred by CBI, crime branch and court of law. He has contributed 150 research publications in International and national scientific journals & book chapters. His area of interest is molecular forensic medicine and suicide biology.
