Biography

My name is Cigir Biray Avci. I am an Associate Professor in Ege University Medical Faculty, Department of Medical Biology in Izmir/Turkey. I have lectures in Medical, dentistry, dietician, nursary faculties in Ege University about molecular biology and genetics, cell culture and cancer. My research area is especially about the effects of different potential anticancer agents on different cell lines of cancers (especially GBM, chronic myeloid leukemia). My projects are about to clarify the genetic mechanisms in various cancer types in gene and protein expression levels. I am a reviewer in different national and international journals. I am a board member and also a project reviewer in scientific projects in my country’s best research support center “TUBITAK”. I have a lot of bursaries / fellowships and grants (European Neurooncology organisation (EANO) Travel grant, TUBÄ°TAK fellowship, Marie Curie- MC-GARD fellowship, International Brain Research Organisation-Travel grant, FEBS fellowship, Cancer and Ageing- SENECA young researcher fellowship and more) from national and international scientific organisations.
