Prof. Daming Li has received his PhD in Zhejiang University during 1997-2002. Currently, he is working as a Professor in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He published a book and more than 10 papers.
My research is related to computational methods and its applications in material science. (1) Large scale computing (Parallel computing/mesh adaptivity), discretization methods (finite difference/finite element method, numerical linear algebra) (2) Applications in material science: Phase field model and cellular automaton method for grain growth in alloy systems; Phase field crystal method and classical density functional theory in alloy or polymer systems; Mean field theory, Monte Carlo method and molecular dynamics in polymer and hydrogel system. The other interest is related to the two basic mathematical tools: (1) Renormalization group: a coarse grained method and its applications in polymer system; a perturbation expansion method with respect to small parameters and its applications in partial differential equations. (2) (Feynman) path integral in statistical physics, especially in polymer systems.
