Daniel Ratner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Washington. As an Investigator at NESAC/BIO, Dr. Ratner’s research focuses on developing biophysical tools to study glycan-dependent interactions at the surface of cells, tissues, and biomaterials. By studying carbohydrate microarray surface chemistries, Dr. Ratner aims to unravel the roles played by cell surface carbohydrates and glycoconjugates in biological systems.Dr. Ratner received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004.
