I am currently an Associate Professor at Brigham Young University and I am engaged in several entrepreneurial ventures. I have recently served as the Co-director of the Center for Investigational Therapeutics at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncological Sciences at the University of Utah. I was on faculty at the University of Arizona until I founded Montigen Pharmaceuticals where I served as CSO. I served as CSO of SuperGen overseeing early drug discovery and development.
I have expertise in small-molecule drug discovery and development and have experience in translational research focused on drug development.
I received my Ph.D. in Cell and Structural Biology at the UTHSC in San Antonio and was a post-doctoral fellow with Dr. Daniel Von Hoff at the IDD. I have published more than 50 manuscripts and book chapters and I have over 25 patents issued or pending.
