Dr Demelash Biffa is a post-doctoral research scientist at the University of Arizona, USA. He received his PhD and Master’s degree from Norwegian School of Veterinary Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He also attended postgraduate courses in Israel, Norway, Denmark and Germany. He was a guess researcher at department of bacteriology, Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control, Stockholm. Dr Biffa is a member of several prestigious associations including American Association for Advancement of science (AAAS), New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS), American Association of Immunologist (AAI), American Society for Microbiology (ASM), American Association of Veterinary Immunologist (AAVI), Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, International Society of Infectious Diseases (ISID), and Society for Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine (SVEPM). Currently he is serving as editorial board member and reviewer of several peer-reviewed journals. His main area of research interest include epidemiology and immunology of infectious disease, epidemiologic research methods, ecology and Epidemiology of emerging zoonosis and bioterrorism/biological warfare agents, Food safety and veterinary public health.
