Diptarka Dasgupta is a scientist at CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum. His research mainly focuses on development of renewable fuel and chemicals from biomass using biotechnology route spanning the areas of fermentation technology, molecular biology and bio-informatics. He has expertise in whole genome analysis and selective manipulation of thermophilic yeast using recombinant DNA approaches. His research has appeared in the journals of Energy and fuels, Process Biochemistry and Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering. He is a reviewer of many reputed international journals and also a member of American Chemical society (ACS).
