Donat Alpar graduated in Biological Sciences & in Chemistry and defended his PhD (summa cum laude) in Medical Sciences at the University of Pecs, Hungary. He won a best oral presentation prize at the Student’s Research Conference. As a research associate he is responsible for Cancer Cytogenetic Lab in the Department of Pathology. He takes part in graduate and postgraduate teaching and introduced a new PhD course as well. Reviewer of the Cytometry Part A, item writer of the International Cytometry Certification Examination and ISAC Scholar selected by the International Society for Advancement of Cytometry. He received various travel grants from the ISAC, European Association of Haematopathology, European Cytogeneticists Association, European Hematology Association and Hungarian National Innovation Office.
Automated interphase-FISH analysis of various cytogenetic aberrations in hematopoietic tumors, combined immunophenotyping and FISH analysis, rare cell detection, clonal evolution.
