Dr Bhoopendra Singh received his postgraduate degree in Forensic Science with specialization in Toxicology from the Dr H.S.G. University, Sagar in 1991 and his Ph.D. in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology from Institute of Medical Science, BHU, Varanasi in 1997. He has begun his academic carrier as post doctoral (Research Associate) in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at AIIMS, New Delhi. He served in various premium medical institutions including AIIMS- New Delhi, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal as Assistant Professor and Rural Medical College, Loni as Associate Professor. Presently he is working as Professor cum Toxicologist in the department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi (An autonomous Government Institution of Jharkhand) since 2009. Dr Singh has a wide exposure to visit different countries as a visiting professor in the area of forensic toxicology. He is teaching toxicology and various aspects of forensic sciences to the medical students since March 1992. Presently he is a visiting faculty of Raksha Shakti University, Ahmedabad and Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University, Ranchi. He received opportunity to contribute in the establishing the Jharkhand Raksha Shakti Univesrity, Ranchi. His contribution was in designing the curriculum for B.Sc. (Hons) Forensic Science courses. He has also received opportunity to become the founder guest faculty for B.Sc. (Hons) Forensic Science programme. Dr. Singh is a member of the various national and international societies i.e. Society of Toxicology-India, Indian Medico-legal Expert Association-Delhi, Indian Science Congress Association-Kolkata, Indian Society of Toxicology-Kochi, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the International Association of Forensic Toxicologists. He has given numerous presentations and chaired scientific session in various national and international conferences and seminar. He has authored and co-authored about 42 scientific papers and articles (International -17 and National 25) for both peer-reviewed and popular publications and has served as a reviewer for several national and international Journals.
