Biography

Dr. Engr. Md. Ashraful Alam has been working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Alam has been graduated and received the Doctor of Engineering degree from the Department of Chemistry and Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Iwate University, Morioka, Japan on September 2018. He obtained Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) in Chemistry (Honours) in 2007 and Master of Science (M. S.) in Organic Chemistry in 2009 from the University of Chittagong (CU), Chittagong, Bangladesh securing CGPA (Cumulative Grade Points Average) 3.51 (out of 4.00) and 3.79 (out of 4.00), respectively. He also obtained the Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh in September 2014. Initially, he joined as a Lecturer in Chemistry in the Northern University Laboratory College, Jatrabari, Dhaka, Bangladesh in April 2011. Then he worked as a part time lecturer in the University of South Asia, Banani, Dhaka more than 1 year and in Uttara University, Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh since came to Japan. Mr. Ashraful has been awarded the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship for PhD study in the field of Synthetic Organic Chemistry at Iwate University, Japan. He was selected and worked as a Research Assistant (RA) for 1 year in a project of Climate Change Study Cell (CCSC), BUET, Dhaka in 2012. He was also selected as a Research Fellow (RF) for 1 year in Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2011 under the appointment of the government of Bangladesh. Mr. Ashraful was awarded the National Science, Information and Communication Technology (NSICT) fellowship for Master’s thesis work in 2010 and National Science and Technology (NST) fellowship for M. Phil. thesis work in 2012 funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. He was also awarded Dr. Zaman Fellowship for securing the highest position in his M. Phil. course study in the Department of Chemistry, BUET, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Dr. Alam has been continuing his research work since his early career life. He published his fundamental research papers in several peer-reviewed international and national journals. His research interest is synthetic organic chemistry, natural products chemistry, medicinal chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, spectroscopy, green chemistry. He participated and presented his research findings at some national and international seminars, symposium and conferences. As a young scientist and having research potentiality, he has taught a good number of students at graduate level at different universities in Bangladesh.
Md. Ashraful Alam was born Bhaluka, Mymensingh district, Bangladesh on December 31, 1984. He is only one son of his parents.

Research Interest

Dr. Engr. Md. Ashraful Alam has been continuing his research work since his early career life. He published the fundamental research papers in several peer-reviewed international and national journals. His research interest is synthetic organic chemistry, natural products chemistry, medicinal chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, spectroscopy, green chemistry. Dr. Alam participated and presented his research findings at some national and international seminars, symposium and conferences. As a young scientist and having research potentiality, he has also taught a good number of students at graduate level at different universities in Bangladesh.
