Dr. Emanuele Durante Mangoni
Born in Naples, Italy, in 1974.
Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine of Naples University since 2011.
Staff Physician in the Unit for Infections and Transplant Medicine of the Monaldi Hospital in Naples since 2004.
Degree in Medicine and Surgery magna cum laude in 1998. Specialty in Internal Medicine magna cum laude in 2003. Doctorate of Research (PhD) in Experimental and Clinical Microbiology in 2007.
Research Fellow in the Department of Medicine, Infectious Diseases Division, of the Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, USA, in 2001-2002 for 12 months. Visiting Scientist in the Imperial College Medical School of London several times (1996-1999), for a total of 9 months. 2004 Research Prize of the Italian Society of Internal Medicine (SIMI).
Author of 44 full papers on peer-reviewed International journals with impact factor.
Editorial Board Member of World Journal of Gastroenterology (2003-2007) and Reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals with impact factor, including Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Viral Hepatitis, European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Clinical Microbiology & Infection. Scientific secretary of the 2009 International Symposium on Endocarditis and Cardiovascular Infections.
Member of the European Federation of Internal Medicine, the International Society for Cardiovascular Infectious Diseases, the Società Italiana di Medicina Interna and the Associazione Italiana Studio Fegato.
Areas of scientific activity: management of infective endocarditis and cardiovascular infections; haemostasis, thrombosis and inflammation in hepatic and cardiovascular disorders and in heart transplant; pathogenesis and treatment of hepatitis and its complications; virology and immunology of chronic viral hepatitis.
