Ehsan Espid is a Ph.D. candidate and a researcher in chemical and biological engineering department at University of British Columbia. His research area lies in design and fabrication of chemical gas sensors, and bio-sensors for point of care applications in miniature systems. His work has been published in leading journals . He is currently developing micro- and nanoscale biomaterials for non-invasive wearable health monitoring systems and point-of-care applications. He is using light-actuated digital microfluidics (LADM) to develop platforms for droplet movements via optoelectrowetting technique for bio-sensing applications
