Dr. Esther Iecovich is one of the leading social gerontologists in Israel. She was the head of the master program in gerontology at the Faculty of Health Sciences in Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel, where she is a senior lecturer and researcher. Her fields of interest include care giving and home care services to older adults, including homecare services provided by migrant care workers. She occupied various senior management positions in the field of eldercare in both community-based and institutional long-term care services in Israel. She was a member of the national committee for the long-term care insurance law and a member of other national committees and councils on aging. She is currently the chairperson of board of a non-profit organization that supplies domiciliary services to disabled older adults.
