Etsuji Tomita received B. Eng. and Dr. Eng. degrees from Tokyo Institute of Technology. He was with the faculties of Tokyo Tech., and was Professor at the University of Electro-Communications (UEC Tokyo). He was also Professor at the Research and Development Initiative, Chuo University. He is presently Professor Emeritus at UEC Tokyo and is with the Advanced Algorithms Research Laboratory, UEC Tokyo, and is also Research Advisor of JST ERATO Project. He served as Editor-in-Chief of IPSJ, PC Chair of ALT, Guest Editor of Theoretical Computer Science, Conference Chair of ICGI, Director of IPSJ, Chair of Computer Science Domain of IPSJ. He is a member of Steering Committee of ICGI and Editor of American Journal of Operations Research and ISRN Discrete Mathematics. He was given the Funai Information Technology Prize and the Award of "Theoretical Computer Science Top Cited Article," and is Fellow of IEICE, IPSJ, and IEEE senior member.
