Felix Leonidovich Chernousko, born in 1938 in Leningrad, Russia, graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1961 and received his Ph.D. (1964) and Dr. Sci. (1969) degrees from the same Institute. Since 1968, he works at the Institute for Problems in Mechanics of Russian Academy of Sciences, first as a Head of Laboratory, and since 2004 as the Director. Since 1974, he is also a Professor of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He is a Full Member (Academician) of Russian Academy of Sciences, International Academy of Astronautics, European Academy of Sciences, Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, etc. He is the Chief Editor of the journal Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, a member of Editorial Boards of several international and Russian journals. He is an author of 12 books and 400 scientific papers on mechanics, control theory, computational methods, and robotics.
