Dr. Foroozan Mokhtarian is currently a Director in the New York Immunology Laboratory LLC, SUNYSB, Inc. and Adjunct Associate Professor of Neurology at SUNY Health Science Center at Stony Brook. She completed her PhD from the Johns Hopkins University in Neuroimmunology. During 1984-1987, she Joined University of Maryland, as Assistant Professor, and a Co-PI on a Program Project grant. As a PI, she was awarded a R29 from NINDS in 1987, to investigate the mechanisms of de- and remyelination, using Semliki Forest virus (SFV) in mice. She was then recruited to be the Director of Neuroimmunology Res. at Maimonides Med Ctr. and Associate Professor of Microbiology/Immunology and Medicine at SUNY, Downstate in Brooklyn, in 1987. He published many articles and co-author of many books. He is an active Editor & Reviewer for many Journals.
