Francesco Marcelloni received the Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pisa in 1991 and 1996, respectively. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Pisa. He has co-founded the Computational Intelligence Group, and has founded and heads the Competence Centre on MObile Value Added Services (MOVAS), both at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Pisa.
Currently, he serves as associate editor of Information Sciences (Elsevier), Soft Computing (Springer), the International Journal of Swarm Intelligence and Evolutionary Computation (OMICS), and the International Journal of Sensor Networks and Data Communications (OMICS). He is also on the editorial board of the International Journal on Advances in Software (IARIA).
Data compression and aggregation in wireless sensor networks, node localization in wireless sensor networks, multi-objective evolutionary fuzzy systems, fuzzy clustering algorithms, service recommenders, pattern recognition, signal analysis, neural networks and mobile information systems.
