University of Leicester, UK
After obtaining her Pharmacy degree from the University of Kiel Germany 2005 Friederike Teichert received a scholarship for a PhD degree from the University of Leicester UK. Her studies focussed on biomarker discovery for prostate carcinogenesis in a transgenic mouse model and chemopreventive efficacy of green tea polyphenols. After completion of her doctorate degree she continued her work as a Research Associate in the Cancer Biomarkers and Prevention Group at the University of Leicester. Her research is focussed on biomarker discovery and evaluation for cancer chemoprevention and cancer diagnostic clinical pilot studies. Dr Teichert has published several papers in peerreviewed journals and received grant funding for short term studentships. Furthermore she is involved in teaching activities and the implementation of Good Clinical Laboratory Practice in the laboratory.
