Dr.Gary List is retired from the US.Department of Agriculture Northern Regional laboratory in Peoria IL .(1963-2007) . Currently he is an adjunct professor in the department of food science and human nutrition,University of Illinois ,Urbana IL. Dr.List is an authority on oilseed processing and edible oils.He is the author of 380 publications ,book chapters, proceedings , and abstracts. He has edited books in his area of expertise.. He has given over 160 presentations at national/international meetings many of which were invited plenary lectures. In retirement he serves as a consultant to the food industry. He is an active member of AOCS,IFT ,Euro.Fed Lipids and ACS. He serves on the editorial board of numerous national and international journals. Dr.List has received many awards from technical societies ,trade groups, and ,academia, They include Chang awards from AOCS,IFT, the Supelco/Nicholas Pelick AOCS research award, and the Euro .Fed Lipids, Lipid Technology Award.
