Biography

George Fink is Professorial Research Fellow in the Florey Institute for Neuroscience and Mental Health at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He was formerly Director of the Mental Health Research Institute, Melbourne, Director of the UK Medical Research Council’s Brain Metabolism Unit in Edinburgh and University Lecturer and Fellow in Physiology and Medicine at Brasenose College and Oxford University. Fink is a neuroscientist whose research discoveries in neuroendocrinology and psychopharmacology are published in over 300 scientific papers. His distinctions include Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. In addition to being the founding Editor in Chief of the award winning Encyclopedia of Stress Dr Fink has edited Stress Science: Neuroendocrinology (2009), Stress Consequences: Mental, Neuropsychological and Socioeconomic (2009), Stress of War, Conflict and Disaster (2010) and the Handbook of Neuroendocrinology (2011).
