Dr. Manoj Ghaste is a bioanalytical mass spectrometry with special interest in metabolomics and lipidomics. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Biological Sciences of University of North Texas, USA. He received his PhD in Biomolecular Sciences from University of Trento, Italy, during PhD he performed research on metabolomics study of volatile secondary metabolites in fruits and application of soft ionization in GC-MS based metabolomics.
His current research mainly focuses on mass spectrometry-based global metabolomics and lipidomics and its applications for understanding different biological systems and, he believes that Metabolomics is a tool with huge potential to understand different biological systems (plant and animal) and their differential functions under diverse genetical, environmental and physical conditions. He is also actively involved in the development of different high resolution mass spectrometric databases for metabolite identification.
