Dr. Giulio Pioli was born in Parma, Italy in 1958. He received his medical degree and the specialization in Gerontology from the university of Parma and his PhD from the Medical School of the University of Modena, Italy. He was also research fellow at Department of Human Metabolism and Clinical Biochemestry of the University of Sheffield.
He started his clinical career as geriatrician in a project of hospital at home in Genova in 1992 and then worked as staff Clinician at Geriatric Unit of General Hospital of Parma (1992-1999) and Medical Director of Post Acute Care Hospital “E.Germani” in Cremona (1999-2000). From 2000 to 2005 was staff clinician and then head of “Project Unit” of Geriatric Department of Galliera Hospital of Genova. From 2005 to present is geriatric clinician and bone metabolism consultant of ASMN Hospital, Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Main fields of interest and research are osteoporosis and bone disorders and the management of elderly fracture patients including new model of care such as orthogeriatric cocare models.
