Gouri Sankar Bhunia completed his Senior Research Fellowship: “Appraisal of Micro-climatic Determinants of proliferation of disease visceral leishmaniasis (Kala-azar) in Bihar (India) using Remote Sensing and GIS” , Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
He participated in the National level conference on “Current trends in Remote Sensing and GIS Application” held at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), 2007, Dept. of Geology and Geophysics, Kharagpur. Participated in the international level conference on “4th World Congress on Leishmaniasis, 2009” held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. Participated in the National level conference on 4th Bihar Vigyan Congress, 9th -11th June, 2011, Bihar Council on Science and Technology (Deptt. Of Science and Technology), IGSC-Planetarium, Patna, Bihar, India. Participated on WHO/TDR MEETING (DMOs/MIs) entitle “Workshop on use of the M&E toolkit IRS and active case detection (ACD) for VL elimination programme in Bihar, India” held on 20th- 22nd Oct. 2011 at Rajendra Memorial Research institute of Medical Sciences (ICMR), Agamkuan, Patna, Bihar.
