Dr. Goutam Koley received the B. Tech. degree from the Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 1998, the M.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, in 2003. Immediately after his graduation, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, where he is currently an Associate Professor and Graduate Director. Dr. Koley has authored and co-authored more than 60 journal articles and conference proceedings, 50 conference presentations, 9 invited talks/seminars, and one book chapter. His research has resulted in 4 invention disclosures and 3 pending patents. He is a co-founder and shareholder of 3 start-up companies, a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the APS.
His current research interests includes Micro and Nanoscale Sensors and Electronic devices, MEMS/NEMS, Bio-implantable Sensors, and Scanning Probe Microscopy.
