Prof. Graham Hall received his PhD from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, in 1971. Currently he is Emeritus Professor of Mathematics in the Institute of Mathematics, the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. He was Head of Department during the period 1992-1995 and has undertaken many other administrative responsibilities in this university. He is serving as an editorial member for several reputable journals including “The Journal of Geometry and Physics”. He is the author of over 160 research articles, one book and is the (joint) editor of two published collections of articles on Relativity Theory. He has delivered about 200 invited lectures in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia and has supervised over 30 postgraduate students including 19 at the level of PhD . He is a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, the Royal Astronomical Society, the Society for General Relativity and Gravitation, the Edinburgh Mathematical Society and the European Mathematical Society. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society.
His research interests lie mainly in the area of classical mathematical relativity theory and differential geometry and, in particular, in the study of symmetries and curvature structure in Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity.
