Heather M Powell is an Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University She received her BS in Geology/Paleobiology from Bowling Green State University 19961999 and subsequently completed her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Ohio State in 2004 Before returning to Ohio State as a faculty member in 2008 she was a post doctoral fellow at the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Cincinnati OH She received a NDSEG fellowship from the American Society for Engineering Education and the Ralph E Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award from the Oak Ridge Associated Universities She serves as a reviewer for 7 journals author of one book several book chapters and over 20 publications Her work is currently supported by the National Science Foundation.
