Jason Chen is an assistant professor of finance in the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. His primary research interest is in empirical asset pricing. His research has been published in Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Finance, and Journal of Portfolio Management. His SSHRC application in 2011 ranked No. 1 in all applications from new scholars in Committee 22 (accounting, finance, management science, production and operating management). He was also a finalist for PanAgora Asset Management Crowell Prize in 2009. He teaches security analysis (value investing), investments, and corporate finance.Professor Chen received his MBA and Ph.D. in finance from the University of Chicago in 2005, and a bachelor\s degree in economics as an Outstanding Graduate from Beijing University in 1998.
