Dr. Huiqing Zhu is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi in the Department of Mathematics. His research interests are primarily in the design, analysis, improvement, evaluation, and computer implementation of numerical methods for differential equations. His recent research focuses on the investigation of the superconvergence of local discontinuous Galerkin methods applied to convection-dominated problems. He is also working on efficient adaptive algorithms for some new localized radial basis function methods. The goal is to extend the localized radial basis function methods to complicated domain problems, nonlinear differential equations and time-dependent differential equations. Dr. Zhu currently serves as a reviewer for 7 Journals including Mathematics of Computation and Journal of Scientific Computing.
1. Finite element method (FEM), discontinuous Galerkin methods (DG), radial basis function (RBF) method, finite volume method.
2. Numerical methods for partial differential equations, singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problems.
