Biography

Ilke Anac is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Gebze Institute of Technology (GYTE) in Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey. She received her B.S. degree in Chemistry from Bogazici Univeristy in Istanbul, Turkey in 2000, and her M.S. and PhD. in Polymer Science and Engineering from University of Massachusetts at Amherst (UMASS), USA in 2002 and 2006,respectively. During her PhD studies, conducted under the supervision of Thomas J. McCarthy, she worked on polymer adsorption and metal oxide surface modification. After completion of her graduate studies at UMASS, she joined Prof. Wolfgang Knoll’s group (Materials Science Group) at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany, as a postdoctoral associate. Her postdoctoral studies focused on the characterization of hydrogel thin layers. Between 2009 and 2010, she worked as a R&D engineer in ENPLAST Plastics & Chemical Ind, Turkey.
