Biography

Dr. Eng. Nicoleta Alina Suciu is Research Associate in the Institute of Agricultural and  Environmental Chemistry of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza  (Italy). She obtained her PhD  in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Ecology of Pesticides from the Faculty of Agriculture of Universitá degli Studi di Milano in Milano (Italy). Her PhD research was mainly focused on laboratory and field studies concerning pesticide adsorption on modified clays, having as final result the development of a pilot decontamination system for water containing pesticides. For one year she joined the PPR Unit of European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in Parma (Italy), working for the development of scenarios for fate of pesticides in protected crop systems and impact to the surrounding environment. She has  participated in numerous national and international conferences and workshops.  She has collaborated in the organization of several national and international scientific meetings.

Research Interest

River Hydrology, water footprint in agricultural sector, innovative techniques to improve the use of water in the agricultural sector in order to go in the direction of sustainability could be valid topics.
