Biography

Issa Zakeri received his PhD in Statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was an Assistant Professor in the Department of mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park, a visiting faculty member in the Department of Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a visiting scholar in the Department of Statistics at Stanford University, a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, and he is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Drexel University. He likes working on applied and theoretical problems in statistics. He has methodological and applied research interests related to obesity prevention and stochastic modeling and prediction of energy expenditure, and have engaged in obesity prevention research at the biologic, clinical and community levels. He has extensive collaborative experience in behavioral, biological and medical sciences.
