Dr. James Hopker is currently a Lecturer in the Centre for Sports Studies at the University of Kent. He received his BSc (Hons) from St. Mary’s University College, Twickenham and his MSc. from Canterbury Christ Church University. James completed his PhD on the influence of training on cycling efficiency in 2009. Since then he has continued his work in the area of cycling efficiency and the determinants of endurance performance. He regularly publishes this work in scientific peer-reviewed journals, as well as in lay publications. James regularly provides scientific advice to cyclists from 3rd cat. to the Pro level.
