Biography

James J Yoo, MD, PhD is Professor and Associate Director and Chief Scientific Officer at Institute for Regenerative Medicine, Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is crossappointed to the Department of Urology, Physiology and Pharmacology and the Virginia TechWake Forest School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences. He received his Ph.D in Medical Science/Urology from Korea University Graduate School of Medicine in 1994 and received his MD from Korea University College of Medicine in 1989. He completed his BA at the University Illinois in 1983. He did his residency in Urology at Korea University Hospital in 1994 and completed a research fellowship in urology at Children′s Hospital in Boston and Harvard Medical School in 1996. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and filed over 30 patent applications. Dr Yoo is currently a member of many national and international scientific societies and serves as a consultant to various scientific journals. In addition he has successfully organized and directed many scientific meetings and symposia. He has numerous international visiting appointments and has received awards and honors over the years.
