Biography

Dr. Tsai is currently Professor of Neurology at National Cheng Kung University. He attended medical school at National Taiwan University, completed residency in Neurology at National Taiwan University Hospital and then earned his doctoral degree from College of Medicine, Free University of West Berlin, Germany. He is Board-certified in Neurology, Taiwan. He conducts an epilepsy clinic at Tainan in southern Taiwan.

Research Interest

Dr. Tsai is devoted to the epilepsy movement, not only in Taiwan, but also at an international level. He is founder of the Taiwan Epilepsy Society and was instrumental in the application of this organization for membership of ILAE and IBE. Dr. Tsai has published around 100 scientific papers on epilepsy research. His interests are in the diagnosis and management of epilepsy, clinical trials of new antiepileptic drug, psychosocial issues of persons with epilepsy, EEG, epilepsy education and epilepsy advocacy in Taiwan.
