Dr. Jirong Long is presently an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Long has been conducting genetic epidemiologic studies of chronic diseases, including breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, CVD, and stroke. In particular, she has extensive expertise in genetic epidemiologic studies of breast cancer and use of next-generation sequencing and large genotyping arrays in epidemiologic research. The major focus of her research is to identify novel genetic factors and gene-environment interactions in relation to risk of cancers and other chronic diseases.
