Dr. Joan A. Cebrick Grossman, PhD, RD is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at The University of Scranton. She is also a registered dietitian. Her recent areas of research have focused on post-menopausal women and the influence of short duration and traditional exercise on body composition changes, i.e., increasing lean muscle mass while decreasing fat mass. She has also studied the effects of resistance exercise and body composition techniques.
Her research was specific to patient enrollment in cardiac rehabilitation and improving patient outcomes and indicated that the personalized attention received with face-to-face interventions, such as bedside nursing was instrumental in successful outcomes for cardiac rehabilitation.
