John C. Messenger, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine where he has been since 1999. He currently serves as the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories as well as the Cardiovascular ICU and Intermediate Care Unit at the University of Colorado Hospital. He also practices at the Denver VA Medical Center and Childrens Hospital of Colorado. In addition, he has been the Program Director for the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at University of Colorado since 2005. He currently serves as the Chair of the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR CathPCI Research and Publications Committee, and is a member of the NCDR CathPCI Steering Committee. In addition, he serves as the Chair of the Simulation Committee for the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions
His research interests include simulation training in cardiology, pharmacological therapies for acute coronary syndromes, novel treatments for acute myocardial infarction as well as health services research in interventional cardiology
