John-Joseph Borg

John J Borg received a first class honours degree as well as a master′s distinction from the University of Malta and a PhD from the University of Bristol. He is a scientist and a regulator who has worked in the industry in the early 2000s as well as a regulator of medicinal products since 2005. John has held a number of management roles including: Post-Licensing Director of the Medicines Authority as well as head of electrophysiology for a start-up biotech company Lectus Therapeutics UK. During his career John has gained considerable transactional experience ranging from seed investments and regulatory experience in the approval of both medicinal products for human use as well as clinical trial approvals. John′s research activities run from cardiac electrophysiology to regulatory sciences focussing on pharmacovigilance and drug safety. He now maintains an academic link through a Visiting Lectureship at University of Malta.
