Prof. Lee was designated as a National Research Lab of Clinical Nutrigenetics/Nutrigenomics and successfully made a base for nutrigenetic studies. Prof. Lee is successfully leading a mid-career Research Program for the development of the tailored nutrition for healthy aging. Prof. Lee is considered as a leader in the field of nutrition and nutrigentics not only in Korea but also in the international societies and has intensively researched on the interaction between environment/behavioral factors and genetic properties predisposing to chronic metabolic disease with special emphasis on diet. Prof. Lee is also a national leader who first applied metabolic profiling technology into Nutritional Research field in Korea. So far, Prof. Lee have collected a large amount of biological specimens from health control, metabolic syndrome people without medications as well as patient carrying cardiovascular disease or diabetes mellitus: DNA extract (>10,000), serum or plasma (>10,000) and urine (5,000) has been already assembled. Prof. Lee can provide high-quality quantitative measurements of more than 200 biomarkers and metabolites related to metabolic disorders.
Lee\'s research interests focuses on Clinical Nutrition, Nutrigenetics, Antioxidant and oxitative stress, Nutrition and chronic disease (CVD, DM, metabolic syndrome etc.), Aging and nutrition, Nutrition and metabolomic profiling, Inflammation and nutrition.
