José Manuel Hernandez-Padilla, MSc, PhD is a full-time academic at Middlesex University in London (UK). Dr. Hernandez-Padilla initiated his professional career as a qualified nurse in 2006. After working in A&E, ICU and other acute care wards, he joined the Adult, Child and Midwifery Department at Middlesex University in July 2013. In January 2014, Dr. Hernández-Padilla was awarded a PhD with distinction after his doctoral dissertation thesis on student-centred approach to teaching communication and interpersonal skills to nursing students. From an early stage in his research career, Dr. Hernandez-Padilla has contributed to Nursing Science with high-quality and high-impact publications.
Dr. Hernandez-Padilla researches using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. His research interests are: nursing education, competence assessment, innovative teaching approaches, questionnaire validation, end-of-life care, phenomenology and humanism.
