Dr. Das Joydip is an Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences University of Houston. He received his Ph.D in Bioorganic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and got post doctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. His research articles have been published in Biochemistry J Biol Chem, Protein Sci Biochem J, J Am Chem Soc Bioorg Med Chem Lett etc.
The major focus of his research has been the ligand-protein interaction in soluble and membrane proteins, role of protein kinase Cs in modulating alcohol actions and developing isotype-specific modulator for this family of proteins. Protein biochemistry, Mass spectrometry, X-ray crystallography and organic synthesis are used for this research.
