Dr. Bustamante received his MD degrees from Universidad de Valladolid, Spain and his Ph.D from the same University. He is Master in “Administration and Direction of Health Systems”. 2007-2009. Universidad Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. Master in Statistics “Methodology in research: Design and Statistics in Public Health” Universidad de Barcelona, Spain. 2008-2010. He completed his training in other Hospitals as Vall Hebron in Barcelona or San donato in Milan.At present he works in the Hospital Universitario La Princesa, Madrid, Spain, and he is an Assistant Professor of Universidad de Valladolid and Autonoma de Madrid. He is investigator in 6 multicentric studies and co-ordinator of minimally invasive surgery and the Surgical Ventricular Restoration for the International Register. He has received numerous awards throughout his professional activity. He has published more than 30 papers and 60 abstracts.
His major area of research is related to septic shock, models of ischemia reperfusion in human myocardial, infective endocarditis and postoperative outcome.
