Dr. Brayton is an Associate Professor of Microbial Genomics at Washington State University. After obtaining a Ph.D. in biochemistry at Purdue University, Dr. Brayton did postdoctoral work at the Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute in South Africa where she became involved with Rickettsial pathogens of veterinary importance. In her current position she studies the infection biology of tick-borne hemoparasites.a
