Biography

Dr Kirti Bhandari completed PhD in Environmental Studies from the Laboratory of Sustainable Transport and Spatial Development from Nagoya University, Japan. She had have worked extensively in the areas of Transport Environment at the Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi since 1997. She was awarded the Japanese Government Scholarship for research studies leading to my PhD from April 2005 to March 2009. She had been awarded the best paper prize for my paper “MRTS system in Delhi: Increase in mode choice and its mobility and equity implications” published in the International Journal of Urban Sciences, from the University of Seoul, South Korea. She had published my research in various reputed national and international journals. She had published a book on “Impact assessment of mass rapid transit in Delhi: Economy, Equity and Environment” (with LAP LAMBERT academic publishing, Germany, ISBN-13 978-3-8465-1155-8). The focus of my work is mainly on environmental implications of transport. She had worked extensively in the areas of ambient air quality monitoring and assessment, exhaust emission monitoring and assessment, planning and assessment of transport systems, particularly public transport (bus and metro) and carbon footprint estimations.
