Laiq Khan received his B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering from Pakhtoon Kwah University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan in 1996 and his PhD degree (Power System Dynamics and Control) from University of Strathclyde Glasgow, UK in 2003. Before Ph.D. he worked in Siemens Pakistan as a Field Engineer for two years. He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Electronic Engineering Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Swabi, Pakistan from June, 2003 to Feb., 2008. Then he joined the Faculty of Electrical Engineering COMSATS Institute of IT, Abbottabad, Pakistan and worked as an Associate Professor till June, 2011. Currently he is a Professor of Power System Dynamics and Control in COMSATS IIT, Abbottbad, Pakistan. His research interests include Power System Stability and Control using PSSs, FACTS Controllers and HVDC, Robust Control Theory, Intelligent Control Systems, Nonlinear Adaptive Intelligent Control and Adaptive Predictive Intelligent Control, Fault Tolerant Control, Power System Planning and Advanced Optimization Techniques.
