Presently she is the Head of Genome Function Analysis Section in National Human Genome Institute, National Institute of Health. She has done her B.S. in Pennsylvania State University, 1991 and Ph.D. in Pennsylvania State University, 1998.
Dr. Elnitski is a molecular and computational biologist who studies noncoding functional elements in vertebrate genomes. She is extensively involved in NHGRI's ENCODE (Encyclopedia of DNA Elements) project.
