Lei Wang received the B.Eng and M.Eng. degrees from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2002 and 2004, respectively, and the D.Eng. degree from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2007.
He is currently a full professor at the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before he joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences in August 2011, he was an associate professor at the University of Tokyo. His primary research interests are land surface hydrology, water resources, and climate change.
